CJ McCollum on Twitter (@CJMcCollum)

In case you haven’t heard this before (and I would be surprised if you haven’t) CJ McCollum graduated with a degree in journalism from Lehigh. And since he has entered the league McCollum has taken his chances to put that degree to use, including in an interview with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for the Players Tribune. As you could expect from someone trained in the journalism field, McCollum’s polish carries over to his social media account.

That polish is what makes McCollum’s account so interesting. Like his teammate Damian Lillard, McCollum will often interact with fans. But there is something different about the way McCollum does it. Unlike Lillard who is often short and sweet with his answers, McCollum will sometimes give extended thoughts that are very interesting. While he doesn’t quite get as bold as Lillard does at times, McCollum also isn’t afraid to speak his mind on most topics.

But he also is willing to have some fun. McCollum will go out and “recruit” players that are in rumors. He picks on other guys around the league for random things. He really just has fun. And unlike other players he doesn’t feel guarded at all times.

I would also assume that we see quite a few interview type projects from McCollum this summer. Considering that most of the ones he has done already are pretty interesting I am excited to see how much his talents continue to grow.
