Isiah Thomas, who poured more gasoline on the dumpster fire that is the New York Knicks, said he won’t return as GM.

It’s safe to say the New York Knicks organization, once one of the proudest in the entire world of sports, can be labeled as hot garbage based on what has taken place over the last two decades. Since making the NBA Finals in 1999, the team has made it to the playoffs just six times in 17 seasons, including just once during the time Isiah Thomas was with the team.

The Hall of Famer joined the Knicks in 2003 in the front office before eventually moving to the sidelines for two seasons and finishing with a record of 56-108. Add that to the number of questionable moves he made in the front office (that Eddy Curry trade, for example), and Isiah Thomas isn’t a popular name inside Madison Square Garden.

With the recent departure of Phil Jackson this week, Frank Isola from the New York Daily News dropped a hot take report that made a lot of people in orange and blue want to vomit:

Well … let’s just say the outcry over that report was insane. What’s even more insane is that Thomas tweeted out later that he was not interested in a return:

That’s right, Knicks fans, your team is so bad the man who spent five seasons helping in the destruction wants no part of it anymore.

If that doesn’t show the organization is in disarray, I don’t know what does. With just 80 wins over the last three season, the Knicks wouldn’t be a winning team even if they had peak Isiah Thomas on the roster.
