The Mist season 1, episode 2, “Withdrawal,” continues as The Mist swallows the town. Here’s what you need to know to watch on TV and online.

The Mist is a much beloved horror film, so there were a lot of skeptics ahead of the television adaptation of Stephen King’s story. The show’s premiere made it clear that there is plenty of drama to carry the story through an entire season of television, and perhaps more. As it turns out, the Mist that terrrorizes the town is the least of the town’s problems.

Here is the official synopsis of The Mist “Withdrawal” from Spike TV:

"“The Mist has settled over town as Eve, Alex, and the other mallgoers try to manage the rising panic.”"

The Mist sets a dark tone even before the Mist arrives. A man is killed and a teen is accused of raping a girl, but it’s the girl who ends up being the villain. The audience doesn’t know what happened in either case, so we’re in the dark as much as the town.

When the Mist arrives, the town is swallowed by the fog and visibility disappears. People are pulled away and killed by some unseen force. Not only that, but people are forced to take shelter with people they don’t like, intensifying the drama.

In “Withdrawal,” it’s still too early to know what is happening, but the people who are trapped in the mall need to figure out their next move. When someone tries to create rules, factions are created between those who would follow the rules and those who don’t agree with the system.
