Why the Brewers should do it: As I’ve mentioned in the previous trades involving the Brewers, the more bullpen help they can get, the better off they will be. I don’t believe you will see them involved in the sweepstakes for Jose Quintana, Sonny Gray or Jason Vargas, so deepen the bullpen like many teams have done in recent years for the playoffs. Kahnle is off to a great start as a setup man for the White Sox, a role he can slide into for Milwaukee for even the next couple of seasons.

In Dubon, they give up one of their top 10 prospects, but they have some young middle infielders already in Orlando Arcia and Jonathan Villar, and another prospect in Isan Diaz. It’s dealing from a place of strength to help out one of your weaknesses.

Why the White Sox should do it: Keep loading up on those prospects. The White Sox are in tear down mode and should ship out a controllable reliever with some value. In Dubon, he’s athletic, so even if there isn’t room in the middle infield, you can always move him around make him into a super utility player, something that is quite valuable now in the majors with all the shifting and movement of players around the diamond.

Dubon is in Triple-A right now and could be a part of that initial wave of White Sox prospects later on this season.
