4. Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets may be players in the top-end of free agency, with potential interest in Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap as well as a lot of cap space to play with. Danilo Gallinari is set to decline his $16.1 million player option for next season, but it goes without saying Denver will make some effort to re-sign him to a multi-year deal. For his part Gallinari has said the Nuggets are not his “first choice” for a free agent destination this summer, but in his mind they are at the same level as other teams.

Kenneth Faried, Emmanuel Mudiay and Wilson Chandler are good potential trade chips for Denver this offseason, perhaps finally in Faried’s case. That would free up even more money for a few splashes in free agency, or clear space to take on a big name (Kevin Love? Paul George?) in a trade.

Any interest in Porter from Denver has to be predicated on Gallinari being set on leaving, and that seems to have slightly better than a coin flip chance of happening. Porter would be a solid fallback option if bringing Gallinari back is not in the cards, and he looks like a great fit next to some other pieces the Nuggets have.
