As veteran big man Zach Randolph is set to hit NBA free agency, he will reportedly meet with three teams in the Western Conference as soon as it begins
There was a time in the NBA when Zach Randolph was one of the most feared forces in the league. Affectionately known as Z-Bo, Randolph was a double-double and 20-10 machine every time he took the floor. What’s more, he became a fan favorite upon joining the Memphis Grizzlies, endearing himself in a massive way to the fanbase. However, that may come to an end.
Now 36 years old, Randolph is set to hit NBA free agency when the new league year officially begins. Though he’s obviously at an advanced age now, he’s still able to contribute on the floor. Then when it comes to the locker room, you probably won’t find a more loyal and professional presence anywhere in the league. Thus, there should be a market for him.
And as 12:01 a.m. ET approaches on July 1, that seems to indeed be the case. According to a report from David Aldridge of Turner Sports/TNT, Randolph has meetings scheduled with the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night:
Given the recent developments with the Clippers and Blake Griffin, that seems to be somewhat less likely of a destination than the Kings and Thunder. However, having Randolph as depth behind the oft-injured star wouldn’t be a bad idea all the same.

For the Kings and Thunder, Randolph would be a massive addition. They have young pieces and could stand to bring in a veteran of that caliber. However, there’s still a lot of work to be done in free agency. Thus, we’ll see where the Z-Bo domino falls come the start of the new league year.
