TNA Wrestling re-branding itself to Global Force Wrestling
By Jack Crosby
The “TNA” name will finally die a death, as it was announced the company will now be re-branded to Global Force Wrestling.
For years, people have been calling for the people who run TNA Wrestling to change the name, simply because it had become tarnished from all the mistakes made throughout the years. It might not make the biggest difference in the world, but it was seen as a good way to start rehabilitating the wrestling promotion that has been alive since 2002.
Well, that day has finally come, apparently. According to a report from the Tennessean, Anthem Sports, the owners of TNA Wrestling, are re-branding the promotion to Global Force Wrestling. If that sounds familiar, it’s the promotion that was started up by TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, and just last week Anthem Sports announced that it had acquired GFW. Now, of course, we can all see why.
Now for those wondering whether or not anything will change with the weekly Thursday show on POP TV, Impact, the answer there is no. The report states that the Impact name will stay in place, with Jeff Jarrett heading up the creative team. The overall name of the wrestling promotion will now be known as Global Force Wrestling, though.

So, again, the change that many had been looking for is here, so now we see if it makes a difference. Although, the GFW brand doesn’t exactly have the best track record, either. Jarrett started the promotion a few years ago while he was out of the picture in TNA, ran a few small house shows and taped some television that never hit the air because he couldn’t find a home for the footage. But at the same time, really only die-hard fans will remember all of that, so the new brand is something that they can market to the casual professional wrestling public.
