Ronaldinho embarrassed Jesper Blomqvist in a legends match at Camp Nou on Friday.

Notable alumni of Barcelona and Manchester United met in a legends match at Camp Nou on Friday. United would win the match 3-1, but no one cares about the score in these types of matches. Fans just want to see their favorite players put on a show.

Players such as Rivaldo, Ludovic Giuly, Dwight Yorke, Ji-sung Park and Louis Saha were on hand.

But it was Ronaldinho, naturally, who stole the show. Here is a quote from the match recap on the official Manchester United site regarding the Barcelona and Brazil legend: “…virtually every pass was a no-look one.” Of course every pass from him was a no-look pass.

But it wasn’t a no-look pass that set the Camp Nou crowd alight. Ronaldinho was a master dribbler in his prime. If the clip below is any evidence, he hasn’t lost any of his touch.

Let’s have a moment of silence for the victim. Jesper Blomqvist was a fine player for Manchester United in the late ’90s. May he rest in peace.

Ronaldinho lulled poor Jesper to sleep with a few touches before rolling the ball backwards through his legs for a soul-crushing nutmeg. Blomqvist does his best to recover but ends up slipping and almost falling. True to form, Ronaldinho tops off the slaying with a no-look pass.

After you watch the play 25 times you will probably notice what I noticed: right before he makes the pass, a giant, toothy smile spreads across Ronaldinho’s face. It’s perfect. He’s perfect. I miss him very much.

Again, this kind of play is precisely what fans hope to see in these “legends matches.” It is also a good reminder for all of us to go watch hours of old Ronaldinho highlights on YouTube.
