Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the field for Sunday’s Coke Zero 400. Here’s the complete starting grid for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona.
When the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series came to Daytona, all eyes fell on Dale Earnhardt Jr., so it’s fitting that he leads off the starting grid for the Coke Zero 400.
Earnhardt captured the pole position for his last-ever Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. He’ll be joined on the front row by his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott, he of the recent contract extension. Another Hendrick colleague, Kasey Kahne, is in fourth spot.
Last week’s race winner Kevin Harvick followed victory at Sonoma Raceway up with a top-5 spot in the Daytona lineup, and leads Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Joey Logano, the seemingly always fast but not quite able to secure a win Jamie McMurray, and surprise winner Ryan Blaney. Danica Patrick rounds out the top 10 in the No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing car.
Further down the running order, Darrell Wallace Jr. will step back behind the wheel of the No. 43 in 31st place after a week away, and Jeffrey Earnhardt will start the race from the last row in 39th.
