NBA Free Agency rumors: L.A. Clippers interested in Gallinari and Ingles
After the departure of Chris Paul, the Clippers are looking to build around Blake Griffin, and they’re also pursuing Danilo Gallinari and Joe Ingles.
The Clippers just lost their franchise leader and best player, Chris Paul, earlier this week. They traded him to the Houston Rockets for Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker and a lot of other non-guaranteed contracts.
Blake Griffin was also a free agent who considered his future with the team, but per reports, it looks like Griffin will stay in Los Angeles as he agrees to a 5-year, $173 million deal. With that kind of money committed to Griffin and fellow big man DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers need to get wings.
Per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers are interested in adding Danilo Gallinari and Joe Ingles.
The Clippers don’t have any wings on the roster that they could potentially go into the season as above average starters. They need defenders and also scorers. In Gallinari, they would be getting a 6-foot-10 forward who can play both ends of the floor and give them 18 points on a nightly basis.
In Ingles, the Clippers would be getting a defender at the two-guard. He was also sneaky good at being a point forward and help run the offense for Utah last year. Last season, he averaged 7.1 points per game on 45 percent shooting.

The Clippers and the front office led by Doc Rivers and Jerry West are looking to rebuild the team after losing CP3 via trade. There were two paths for the Clippers. They could have gone ahead and gone for a full-blown rebuild. Instead, they’re choosing to build around Blake Griffin and add other wings via free agency.
Let’s stay tuned and see Gallinari and Ingles can come to Los Angeles and make a difference. They will likely be pursued heavily after all the top-tier free agents are signed.
