The NJPW G1 Special in USA Day 11 is set to take place in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, July 1, and here’s all the info you need to watch

At long last, New Japan Pro Wrestling is heading to the United States. The product and company’s popularity in America has been growing for years now, so they decided to run the NJPW G1 Special in USA as a precursor to their biggest tournament of the year. On Saturday, July 1 in Los Angeles, CA, Day 1 of the G1 Special will get underway.

Looking at the show, all of the big stars will be on display on Saturday night for Day 1. However, there are two big highlights of the G1 Special, without question. Chief among them is Cody challenging Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The American Nightmare made the challenge after Dominion early in June, and will now get his shot at ultimate glory.

Outside of that main event, though, the other big happening at the G1 Special in USA is a tournament. The eight-man tournament will crown the first-ever IWGP US Heavyweight Champion, their first new title in over two decades. And with the talent involved such as Kenny Omega, Jay Lethal and many more, it should be a stellar show.

There’s obviously the title match and the tournament, but this card has much more. Let’s have a look at the full match card for the NJPW G1 Special in USA on Day 1:

  • IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Cody

Luckily for fans who aren’t in the are or unable to get tickets, New Japan hasn’t forgotten you. The action will be broadcast on AXS TV. If you don’t have the channel, you can also stream the action in Canada and many other areas of the world on The Fight Network. Canadian fans can also stream the show on NJPW World.
