The Indiana Pacers traded Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder before free agency began, and he said goodbye to his fans in Indiana.
The Paul George rumors have finally come to an end. Earlier on Friday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded for George and in exchange sent Victor Oladipo and Damontas Sabonis to Indiana.
The deal allows Indiana to get the monkey off their back of “When is George going to be traded?” In the process, Sam Presti and OKC get a superstar to come play with Westbrook. It’s uncertain if George will be there in the future, but he’s leaving Indiana for sure.
PG13 took to Instagram to thank the people of Indiana.
Here’s what George said to the people in Indiana:
"I can go on and on with pics and comments but INDIANA.. THANK YOU for all that you’ve been for my family and I! I’ve met and worked with some of the most unbelievable human beings I think I will ever meet! You all know who you are.. Indy you’ll be in great hands with the future! Love you all"
Immediately after Paul George sent out that post on Instagram, he also put out a post on joining Westbrook.
George didn’t have to say anything for this post. Again, I don’t know if George will be there in the long term, but for right now he looks happy to be with Westbrook in Oklahoma City.

It’s going to be tough for Indiana fans to see George sporting a different jersey this next season, but they’re going into full rebuild mode with Myles Turner and T.J. Leaf.
For now, Paul George is on his way out and has found a way to thank the Indiana fans. It’s surprising he didn’t thank the front office of the Pacers. I really wonder why he didn’t directly thank them? We may never know.
