Chile and Germany face off in the Confederations Cup final on Sunday. The Chileans made it into the final after beating Portugal on penalties due to Claudio Bravo’s superhuman effort. Germany are into the final after demolishing Mexico 4-1 on the back of two Leon Goretzka goals in the first 10 minutes.

Chile and Germany already played once in the group stage, drawing 1-1. The Chileans went on to finish second in the group after beating Cameroon 2-0 and drawing 1-1 against both Germany and Australia. Chile had a lackluster group stage performance. Their draw against Germany was the only time Chile looked close to their best. In their 2-0 victory against Cameroon, Chile left it until after the 90th minute to seal the victory.

Germany have been in excellent form, winning three of their four games in the competition thus far by a combined score of 11-5. The only dropped in points came against their opponents in the final. The youthful Germany have been dominant in the midfield and attack. Using their physicality in the midfield they’ve been able to propel themselves into fantastic offensive positions. The Germans are high on confidence and certainly won’t be afraid of the more experienced Chileans.
