A very interesting rumor arose Sunday that connected the Golden State Warriors to one of the most outspoken figures in basketball.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Golden State Warriors are considering picking up shooting guard Nick Young.

Young, who is currently a free agent, last played with the Los Angeles Lakers. He had one of his best seasons, averaging 13.2 points per game. However, in his four seasons with the team, he never quite jelled with his teammates.

Young was a polarizing figure in Los Angeles because he always seemed to care more about his personal life than his game on the court. Although, a chance with the best team in basketball could turn that around.

Shooting guard is arguably the team’s least deep position with Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw splitting the time off the bench. They’ve proven capable of handling the position, but Young could provide a spark to the offense without Klay Thompson on the floor. Additionally, with all the talent around him, Young would get more open opportunities.

To become a free agent, Young declined his player option. According to Wojnarowski, Young could take some of the money that the Warriors have from a $5.2 million exception. His 2016-2017 salary was $5.444 million.

Other teams looking at Swaggy P are the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans. Both struggled from beyond the arc last season, so they could use a seasoned shooter. He shot 40.4 percent from beyond the three-point line last season, the second-best mark of his winding career.

The GWarriors could give Nick Young a chance to boost his career with a second wind. His teams as he floated around the league over 10 years have never been successful. This could give him a championship ring that he surely is searching for.
