Is World of Dance new tonight, July 4? Fans may be curious if NBC‘s newest competition show is airing a new episode on Tuesday given that it also happens to be the 4th of July.
The answer to that question is no, World of Dance is not new on Tuesday. NBC’s entire Tuesday night reality block, both the Jennifer Lopez series and America’s Got Talent season 12, is taking the evening off so that the network can help audiences get into the holiday spirit.
In their place NBC is airing the Macy’s 4th of July Holiday Spectacular, a special involving musical performances and a whole lot of fireworks. But World of Dance fans might want to consider tuning in anyway, because Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to perform as one of the headlining acts.
Meanwhile, she’ll be back behind the judge’s table next Tuesday, July 11. That will be the third and final episode of “The Duels,” where Lopez, Derek Hough and NE-YO watch contending acts go head to head with only one moving on in the competition.
The good news is that while you’re wondering if World of Dance is new tonight, you don’t have to worry about if it will be new in the future. NBC renewed the show for a second season last week as it continues to be Tuesday night’s second most popular series. Only America’s Got Talent has more viewers, so Lopez and her colleagues will be keeping the dance floor hot for a while now, just not on the 4th of July.
