Day 3 of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London is in the books. Here is how the men did on Wednesday.

Wimbledon is definitely underway in the United Kingdom. Professional tennis’ most iconic Grand Slam is shaping up for an exciting next two weeks at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.

Wednesday, July 5 was the Day 3 of the 2017 tournament in London. We saw the completion of roughly half of the Round of 64 matches in the gentlemen’s singles tournament, with the other half coming on Thursday. The last few Round 1 matches were completed as well on Wednesday afternoon.

Frankly, it was mostly chalk in the gentlemen’s singles in this Grand Slam. Only one ranked player fell in the Round of 64 on Wednesday. No. 14 Lucas Pouille simply did not have it on Wednesday, as he lost to unranked Jerzy Janowicz 7(7)-6(4), 7(7)-6(5), 3-6, 6-1.

Top players like No. 1 Andy Murray, No. 4 Rafael Nadal and No. 7 Marin Cilic all did their parts to advance in three sets at Wimbledon on Wednesday. It should be noted that Murray had the easiest time of the trio in the Round of 64. He advanced over Dustin Brown, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

Nadal had a tough time closing out Donald Young in the third set, but managed to advance 6-4, 6-2, 7-5. Cilic had more than his hands full with Florian Mayer, as he was pushed to 7(7)-6(2), 6-4, 7-5 in their match. Here are all the results from the gentlemen’s singles results on Wednesday in London.
