For the second straight week in a row, Mother Nature has decided it doesn’t want to see an XFINITY Series night race.

Last week’s Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway took nearly 24 hours to finish. Let’s hope that same fate isn’t in store for the NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers in the Alsco 300.

The race was supposed to take place Friday night at Kentcuky Speedway, but inclement weather meant that it just wasn’t happening. Lightning, especially, was a big factor in NASCAR’s decision to postpone the race until Saturday.

“NASCAR and Kentucky Speedway have decided to postpone tonight’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race until tomorrow,” Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Racing Development Officer, said to NASCAR.com. “Fan safety is our No. 1 priority. Due to extreme weather forecasted deep into this evening, we did not see any opportunity to get the race completed tonight.”

The Alsco 300 will now take place at noon Eastern time on Saturday afternoon, with coverage remaining on NBCSN and beginning at 11:30 a.m. Here’s all the info you need to watch the race live at its new time:

Date: Saturday, July 8

Race: 2017 Alsco 300
TV Channel: NBCSN
Live Stream: Stream 1 | Stream 2

Once again, a story to watch during the XFINITY Series race will be how the change of schedule affects the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers who now have to effectively race a double-header. Paul Menard, Ty Dillon, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Erik Jones, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick are all going to have long days on Saturday.

It’s not expected to rain again Saturday, so the Alsco 300 should be run as planned this time around. And hey, it’ll be over quicker than the Daytona XFINITY Series race, anyway.
