The ongoing quest to see who will sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku may finally be nearing a close. Manchester United announced on Twitter they have agreed to a fee with Everton to bring Lukaku to Old Trafford.

The deal is pending a medical, which is set to take place in Los Angeles this weekend, and personal terms. The personal terms shouldn’t be much of an issue, however, since United have the funds to pay him whatever he may desire. Lukaku is in Los Angeles now and has been training with possible future teammate, Paul Pogba.
Assuming the medical goes as planned and there are no hiccups, Lukaku is set to become a Red Devil. This news broke only about 12 hours after Chelsea reportedly matched the £75 million offer United made. If Chelsea truly did make that offer, it seems as though Lukaku chose United over Chelsea. Perhaps he wants to reunite with Mourinho, who managed him during his time at Chelsea.
A further announcement will be made in due course.

More details are sure to follow in the near future. An exact fee and news about the medical should all be released soon. In addition, we’ll find out whether Lukaku will appear during United’s preseason tour of the U.S.
Lukaku will be a good fit at United as his pace and ability to constantly threaten opposing defenders is priceless. Given how United often rely on the counter-attack, it will be nice to have a physical striker to hold the ball up.

This is a solid move for a Manchester United squad that just lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Marcus Rashford is serviceable, but Lukaku can bring so much more to the table. With Lukaku, United will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
