A highly competitive event that features former NBA players and Divison-I college players is all set to begin this weekend in Philadelphia and Charlotte. 32 teams will begin their quest for the grand prize of $2 million on Saturday. The other half of the 64-team bracket will play the following weekend in Las Vegas and Peoria University.

If you’re not able to be in the cities to watch these in these respective cities, don’t worry as all the games will be telecast live on various ESPN networks.

ESPN networks will be carrying up to 150 hours of live TBT coverage, with some of the games on ESPN and ESPN 2.

There are numerous notable matchups in the kickoff weekend of The Basketball Tournament. In Philadelphia, Boeheim’s Army will be taking on the DuBois Dream on Saturday at 6:00 PM EST.

If the name sounds familiar, Boeheim’s Army is one of the most popular teams, as it features Syracuse alumni. Some key players include C.J. Fair, Donte Greene, Rick Jackson, Eric Devendorf and newcomer Trevor Cooney. Another key matchup, the No. 1 seeded FCM Untouchables will be taking on OPI at 11:00 AM on Saturday, but it could be fairly one-sided.

In the South matchups, one of the tournament’s best teams will show up as a No. 1 seed for the first time ever. They’ve won $3 million over the last two summers and are back for more. D.J. Kennedy and Kyle Fogg will look to lead Overseas Elite back to the title. They will take on the No. 16 seeded Chattanooga Trenches in what could be a potential blowout.

The quest for a $2 million grand prize begins on Saturday, with teams looking to move forward. A single-elimination tournament that should have us on the edge of our seats. Catch it on ESPN networks!
