Home Run Derby 2017 Live Stream: How to watch online
MLB’s best sluggers will take the field for the Home Run Derby on Monday night and here is how to watch it online.
Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game and festivities take over Miami’s Marlins Park this week, and all eyes will be on his year’s edition of the Home Run Derby. Excitement should be at an all-time high for the event, with a field full of marketable and entertaining young superstars. The Derby is definitely on an upswing, with hometown favorite Giancarlo Stanton looking to defend his crown.
The 2017 Derby is truly a star-studded event, led by All-World New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge, who leads the Majors in runs, home runs, slugging, OPS and OPS+. Judge will be joined by an impressive field that includes teammate Gary Sanchez, Minnesota Twins masher Miguel Sano, who hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league, and Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger, who has 25 home runs in his first 70 MLB games.
Next: Best MLB player from each state
Stanton won the 2016 Home Run Derby in San Diego by hitting 61 homers in his three rounds. He has earned the number-one seed this year but will have a hard time beating Judge, who hit a ball nearly 500 feet in a live game earlier this year. Regardless of who comes out on top, there will be dozens of balls hit close to or over 500 feet. MLB has done a great job assembling a group of young sluggers for fans all over the country to get excited about. MLB has fiddled around with the format for over a decade, but the new tournament format seems to be a winner.
As has been the case in recent years, ESPN will carry the Home Run Derby, but this will be the first year without long-time broadcaster Chris Berman (which may be a good thing depending on who you ask). The Worldwide Leader will also provide live streaming of the event. All the information you need to watch the Derby can be found below:
