Winner: Golden State Warriors

To the victors go the spoils. Everyone loves a winner and Golden State retained all their major components while adding a few new complementary pieces.

Steph Curry is locked in for five years, Kevin Durant will be in the Bay for at least two more seasons, and they’ll ride out the twilight primes of Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston over the next three. New ring bearers, Zaza Pachulia and David West will also gear up for another run at the hardware.

Joining them will be the one and only Swaggy P, Nick Young, and Omri Casspi. I have a feeling the latter (on the veteran’s minimum no less) will look like a steal in retrospect. Casspi’s always been a solid, heady player, he’s just been saddled by bad luck and bad situations for the entirety of his career.

The Warriors stay winning and will be the favorites to repeat as champs in the upcoming season. As long as this core is in place and healthy, everyone else is playing for second.
