Day 1 of the 2017 SEC Football Media Days will be on Monday, July 10. Here are all the players and coaches that will be meeting with the media on Monday.
2017 SEC Football Media Days will begin on Monday, July 10 at 12:30 p.m. ET. The four-day media event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Alabama just outside of Birmingham.
On the first day, three SEC schools will take their turn meeting with the media. Those three schools will be the Arkansas Razorbacks, the LSU Tigers and the Tennessee Volunteers. The three head coaches in Arkansas’ Bret Bielema, LSU’s Ed Orgeron and Tennessee’s Butch Jones are always good for a great quote or two.
Joining Bielema to represent the Razorbacks will be senior quarterback Austin Allen, senior offensive linemen Frank Ragnow and senior defensive back Kevin Richardson II. Allen will be one of the better signal callers in the SEC. If he puts it all together in 2017, he’s looking at being draft like his older brother Brandon Allen. Ragnow is already garnering great hype as one of the better offensive interior prospects in his draft class. It’ll be interesting to hear what he has to say.
Going to Hoover with Orgeron on behalf of LSU include senior wide receiver D.J. Chark, junior running back Derrius Guice and senior defensive back Christian LaCouture. Orgeron will be a media darling on Monday, given that this is his first SEC Media Days in close to a decade. The most sought after player to be interviewed on Monday will obviously be Guice. He has the brutal task of replacing Leonard Fournette and the SEC will want to know how he feels about it.
Finally, Jones will have three seniors with him at the Wynfrey Hotel to speak on behalf of the Tennessee program: Defensive back Emmanuel Moseley, offensive linemen Jashon Robertson and defensive linemen Kendal Vickers. This could be a trying year for Tennessee. Signs of positivity from these upperclassmen and Jones will make the media feel better about the state of the Tennessee program.
