Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass

What we learned: There wasn’t much to learn here as I don’t think anyone out there really thought Enzo had a chance in this matchup and that’s exactly the way things went down. Naturally, he came out and cut a way-too-long promo about life and love and war and I’m sure there was something else some may consider “important” but I may or may not have “accidentally” hit my mute button after the first few minutes. Corey Graves was once again brilliant in taking him down when it was finished, though.

The new Big Cass intro music needs a little work but I do like this version of him. He was always going to be Vince’s choice for a push from this duo and I’ve actually enjoyed how all of this has gone down. He won in a glorified squash, which was expected, and it was well done. He established his dominance while Enzo also expectedly showed he wouldn’t quit. I really thought Cass was going to launch his former partner into the crowd Rocky III style near the end there but tossing him to the floor was good enough. The big fella finished him off with a boot and that was that.

What’s next: I’m really hoping they don’t drag this thing out. There is no way Enzo is ever going to get the best of Big Cass and while they might give him one more shot in the next week or two, it needs to end there. Cass needs a big-name opponent heading into SummerSlam, somebody established that he can go over to keep his momentum going, and Enzo could benefit himself, and the division as a whole, by jumping into the mix with the cruiserweights.
