When it comes to college football teams in 2017, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be one of the most intriguing teams to follow. Coming off of a 9-4 season in Mike Riley’s second campaign, the team will have to work hard to come close to matching it.
Of all the teams in the country, the Cornhuskers feel like they’re almost starting a new roster completely. The talent turnover coming into this season is a ridiculous one and plenty of new faces are going to have to step up big time if the team wants to compete in the Big Ten West.
With the power of the conference and teams looking to rise in the division, the Cornhuskers are going to have to navigate some tough games. By year three of a regime, a coach at a major power is ready to typically launch into that next phase of building something great.
Riley’s in a unique position where he’s going to be going at with some new talent to rely on. The team virtually has a new offense that will be led by transfer quarterback Tanner Lee this upcoming season.
The Tulane transfer will be well protected up front, but he is going to have to maintain some continuity with new weapons in place. Defensively, the team will be seeing some different looks as well. Here’s the 2017 projected depth chart for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
