The 2017 ESPYs will air on Wednesday night, and here’s how you can watch on television and online.

The second week in July is fairly slow on the American sports calendar, so it has easily become the week the annual ESPYs take place to help fill the void. The 2017 ESPYs will air on Wednesday night from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning serving as the host.

Here’s how you can watch the 25th edition of the ESPYs, on television and online.

Date and Time: July 12, 2017-8 p.m ET
Venue: Microsoft Theater-Los Angeles, CA
TV: ABC
Live Stream 1: Watch ESPN  Live Stream 2: YouTube
Live Stream 3: Sling TV   Live Stream 4: ABC.com

The ESPYs have become an event in conjunction with and in support of The V Foundation for cancer research, with stars from areas beyond sports coming out each year to take part. A wide array of awards for accomplishments from the past year are given out, from best team, to best upset to best individual in almost any sport imaginable. A complete list of awards and nominees for this year can be found here.

Jim Valvano, for whom the V Foundation is named, gave a fantastic and memorable speech at the first ESPYs, in 1993, just before he died of cancer in April of that year at age 47. Stuart Scott and Craig Sager stirred up emotions in a similar fashion with their own ESPY speeches, in 2014 and 2016 respectively, as they each continued what was ultimately a losing battle with cancer. Is something similarly emotional in store for the crowd and viewers this year?

Manning is sure to mix some humor and sharp wit into the proceedings on Wednesday night, making fun of himself and surely others. But there may be some tears shed too if past ESPYs are any indication.
