Tracking all of the winners, highlights and memorable moments from the 2017 ESPYS, hosted by Peyton Manning on Wednesday night

There’s no night in sports that quite compares to the ESPYS. ESPN’s annual awards to honor the best in sports over the last year always brings out the big stars. What’s more, it almost always gives fans a number of entertaining moments that they won’t forget. With all-time great NFL quarterback Peyton Manning hosting the 2017 ESPYS on Wednesday, that seemed like a given from the start.

As always, there are a number of highly contested awards coming into the 2017 ESPYS. Perhaps the most competitive award just in terms of nominees — as it often is — is that for Best Team. The 2016 Chicago Cubs would be hard to argue with given that they broke the curse. At the same time, the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team, Golden State Warriors and several others have strong claims as well.

Meanwhile, the 2017 ESPYS also do a phenomenal job in shining the spotlight on greatness outside of stats and championships. Awards like the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and the Jimmy V Award always bring around rousing speeches that get the emotions in the room going. With New Orleans Saints super-fan Jarrius Robertson set to receive the latter, his speech should be both funny and touching.

What makes the ESPYS so truly great, though, is that the awards and moments around the awards are just the beginning. There are also the sketches, segments and hilarious quotes that have everyone talking after the fact.

The point is, the 2017 ESPYS is the one sports event of the year that brings everyone together and that you can’t miss. So make sure not to miss out any of the action as we’ll keep track of the winners and highlights from the show below once it begins at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Highlights, Winners

Manning started with his monologue, taking aim at numerous players and teams. However, the New York Knicks and then Kevin Durant may have gotten the worst of it:

Best Breakthrough Athlete: Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

DeAndre Jordan was the next presenter, and made a moment for himself with a couple of jokes:

Best Record-Breaking Performance: Michael Phelps

Manning then poked fun at his own age and retirement in a hilarious skit:

Master Sergeant Israel del Toro Jr. received the Pat Tillman Award for Service

Best Coach: Bob Hurley Sr.

Best Moment: Chicago Cubs

Nick Offerman presented the award, which was accepted by Bill Murray.

Best Game: Patriots vs. Falcons Super Bowl

We got another sketch, this time with Manning throwing a Super Bowl party gone awry:

Jarrius Robertson received the Jimmy V Award

Best Championship Performance: Kevin Durant, Golden State Warriors

2016-17’s In Memoriam then aired:

Manning, given his charisma and pedigree as an athlete, was an obvious choice to host the 2017 ESPYS. Now it’s all about him delivering the goods and ultimately putting on a good show for everyone watching.
