MLB All-Star Game better than ever?

The MLB All-Star game did not count for home field advantage in the World Series and it was still entertaining

We have reached the midway point of the baseball season. Congrats to the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers for their historic first halves, both hitting the 60-win milestone. It has been a rough first half for the defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs, who are closer to last place in the NL Central, than first. It was an even rougher go for the San Francisco Giants, the second worst record record in baseball, ahead of only hapless Philadelphia.

The All-Star game itself lacked offense, but fittingly was won on a home run, surprisingly off Wade Davis who does not give up many. MLB is on pace to break the single season record for home runs at well over 6000. Sure seems like the ball is bouncing, jumping, carrying in ways that make you wonder.

Highlights from the All-Star game:

-Bryce Harper shoes, hair, hair-flip

Good news for entertainment fans! The return of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Game of Thrones are almost here and on the way soon. Curb fans have to wait until October, while Thrones fans are back in action this Sunday.

Wimbledon saw an epic match with Rafael Nadal and Gilles Muller. Looks like Roger Federer is going to navigate his way to career slam number 19. Amazing. Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have all been eliminated. American Sam Querrey is still standing strong, knocking off a one seed at Wimbledon for the second straight year. Last year it was Djokovic, this year Murray. Querrey is the first American to advance to a grand slam semi-final since Andy Roddick in 2009.

Paul George has come to the rescue in Oklahoma City. Some Thunder fans, like the one who co-hosts this show, are celebrating while still holding a grudge against Kevin Durant.

Carm and Kayla comes out every Wednesday afternoon at 2 CT. You can follow the show @CarmAndKayla or individually @thecarm and @kaylaknierim.
