1. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M Aggies head coach

On JUCO transfer defensive end Micheal Clemons… “And in case you didn’t know, his nickname is Cyclops. So I’m not recruiting anybody who’s 6’6” and his nickname is Cyclops. I don’t care if he’s got one eye or not. If he can rush the passer, he’s good with me.” – Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M Aggies head coach.

If Nick Saban wasn’t going to give us the amazing SEC Media Days quote we really wanted on Wednesday, just leave that up to Texas A&M Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin. While Sumlin’s press conferences aren’t as intriguing as Saban’s, he will throw a great quote in there from time to time. Boy, did he have a real gem on Wednesday.

So the Aggies will be losing some key players all around to the NFL Draft, including No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett to the Cleveland Browns. Defensive coordinator John Chavis is excellent, but who could possibly replaced someone the caliber of Garrett coming off the edge. It’s obviously some dude whose nickname is Cyclops.

Sumlin went the junior college route to land Micheal Clemons to replace Garrett. It might work. Clemons draws the nickname because he is as explosive as the X-Men character of the same name. Does he have one eye? Does it matter? No, because Chavis and Sumlin are about getting after that quarterback any way possible.

Texas A&M could be in for a trying year, but the Aggies do have some stars on offense. Wide receiver Christian Kirk is a first-round talent. Running back Trayveon Williams could star on Sundays. Now we’ve got some dude that goes by Cyclops. Sign us up!
