Spider-Man on PS4 will have a bigger world than Sunset Overdrive
According to developer Insomniac Games, the new Spider-Man game will have a huge world. In fact, it’ll be bigger than the world in Sunset Overdrive.
Developer Insomniac Games is no stranger to creating huge and lush worlds in its video games. When you think of games like Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive, these games are full of vibrant worlds and full of exploration. Sunset City in Sunset Overdrive is the biggest world the developer has ever created. That’s all changing now, though. Insomniac Games responded to a fan’s question about the upcoming game on Twitter.
Apparently, the world in Spider-Man will be “several times larger” than Sunset City, which is pretty impressive. At the same time, this was expected. It’s not rare to see an open-world game that’s fully explorable and vast, especially in the current generation of gaming.
It’s been awhile since we’ve played a good Spider-Man game. With where gaming technology is now, this may be the most interactive world yet. The potential for this game is sky high.

It wasn’t very hard for this game to grab our attention at E3 2016. It took a full year to finally see some new footage, but it was definitely worth it. At E3 2017, we got a first glimpse at some gameplay and it did not disappoint. In fact, in our opinion, it was the best game from the show.
It’s evident Insomniac is taking some inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series. However, they’re also making it stand on its own. The movement is very smooth and fluid and the combat looks incredibly fun. Many other things stand out, such as the visuals and the characters we’ve seen so far. We can’t wait to learn more.
Spider-Man will launch exclusively on the PS4 sometime in 2018.
