Mexico face Jamaica at Mile High Stadium on Thursday, July 13. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Mexico and Jamaica face off in the Gold Cup on Thursday. This is the second game in the group stage for both. In their first game Mexico was dominate in a 3-1 win over El Salvador. Jamaica looked great in a 2-0 win over Curacao in their first game.
Mexico were brilliant in their opening game against El Salvador. They were efficient in their attack and made few errors. The worst error was made in giving up the ball in midfield and allowing El Salvador to play on the front foot without an attempt to stop the dribbler till it was too late. On the attack they were brilliant. All three Mexican goals came from crosses into the box. The first from a set piece and the next two from open play, a wonderful sign for the team’s mindset after a disappointing Confederations Cup showing.
Jamaica’s performance against Curacao was a brilliant display of dominance. Jamaica are a more talented and experienced side then Curacao, and showed it in their victory. They displayed clutch defending in the final third and great goalkeeping on Curacao’s chances. On the offensive end they were clinical. Effective passing moves led to their goal scoring opportunities and fantastic finishing capped off the chances on both goals.
