Day 1 of the NJPW G1 Climax 27 will take place on Monday, July 17 from Sapporo, and here’s all the info you need to watch

Pro wrestling fans should get set and ready for the best tournament of the year. On Monday, July 17, the NJPW G1 Climax 27 will begin and capture the attention of everyone involved. Sure, it seems as if they always have some sort of tournament taking place. But rest assured that none are bigger than this.

When it comes to the G1 Climax, the prize let’s you know just how big of a deal it actually is. The winner will get the chance to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at the January Wrestle Kingdom show in the Tokyo Dome. That’s an enormous prize, and it also helps to set up the rest of the year in New Japan.

Moreover, the level of talent in the G1 Climax 27 tournament is substantial. The regulars such as Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and even Hiroshi Tanahashi will all be involved. But so too will newcomers like Zack Sabre Jr. and a returning megastar in Kota Ibushi. It’s action that wrestling fans can’t afford to miss out on.
