Sky Sports is reporting that Manchester United are in advanced talking with Inter Milan over the sale of midfielder Ivan Perisic.

Jose Mourinho is closing in on yet another big name signing to bolster Manchester United’s title hopes for next season. Sky Sports is reporting that United and Inter Milan are close to agreeing on the transfer of 28-year-old Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic.

Perisic was an integral part of the Inter squad last season, chipping in with 11 goals and eight assists from midfield. His 11 goals in the league were second on the team to Mauro Icardi, and his eight assists were second only to Antonio Candreva.

Mourinho and the Red Devils have been busy this summer, already splashing the cash on the likes of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku. And with a center-back and striker signed, it seems Mourinho is setting his sights on fortifying the United midfield with the signing of Perisic.

And with Mourinho stating that he wants one to two more signings before the summer transfer window is closed, this could very well be their next signing. The only obstacles seem to be the $62.7 million asking price for Perisic, and the fact that Inter want to involve Anthony Martial in a swap deal as well.

There has been no report on whether United would entertain this option, but that would surely be a hefty fee for a 28-year-old midfielder. And given the fact that Martial is a fantastic talent with age on his side, that seems unlikely.
