2017 NFL win/loss projections for all 32 teams

The 2017 NFL season will be here before you know it. Here are the win/loss projections for all 32 NFL franchises heading into the upcoming football season.

NFL training camps will be opening across the country here shortly. Pre-season games aren’t that far away. It may be really hot outside where you live, but it’s almost football season, so get excited about that. The dog days are almost over and we’ve got some football action rapidly approaching on the horizon.

Outside of a few teams that already know who they are, 2017 brings a great deal of promise to most franchise in the NFL. Will this be the year a struggling club gets back into the playoffs? Can a team take that next step and get into Super Bowl contention? Who has seen their competitive life cycle fade into rampant losing this fall?

What we’re going to try to do today is to predict how all 32 NFL franchises will do in the upcoming season. Without further ado, here are the win/loss projections for every team for the 2017 NFL season. There are certainly to be a few that will stand out to you. Maybe you’ll learn a thing or two by thinking about the season ahead?

Arizona Cardinals

After reaching the 2015 NFC Championship Game, the 2016 Arizona Cardinals stumbled to a lackluster 7-8-1 record. That tie at home to the division rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football was both embarrassing and costly. No, the 2016 Cardinals did not make it back to the NFL Playoffs. However, last year’s difficulties won’t mean that Arizona will be out of the playoff mix in 2017.

Assuming star running back David Johnson is able to perform an at All-Pro level, the Cardinals offense should be more than capable of keeping Arizona afloat while its defense undergoes a bit of restructuring. Patrick Peterson is an elite cornerback, but Arizona will need a bounce-back year from defensive back dynamo Tyrann Mathieu to help offset the loss of safety Tony Jefferson to the Baltimore Ravens in free agency.

Losing defensive lineman Calais Campbell to the Jacksonville Jaguars was head-scratching, but it seems that the Cardinals front office is putting the ball in second-year player Robert Nkemdiche’s court. He’s immensely talented, but are we sure that’s a good thing? At least the Cardinals defense still has Chandler Jones coming off the edge. First-round pick Haason Reddick projects to be a high-end starter for the next decade in the middle of the Cardinals defense.

Overall, we should expect Arizona to hover around .500 this year. While the Cardinals luck out in drawing the AFC South and the NFC East in conference rotation, we should believe that the NFC West will be better thanks to the new coaching staffs within the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers organizations. The growing consensus is that one of those teams won’t be horrendous, though we don’t know who yet.

So will Arizona be a playoff team in the NFC? Not quite, but the Cardinals will be in the mix into Week 17. Arizona has a tough end to their season by drawing the Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins, New York Giants and Seattle in the last quarter of the year. The Cardinals have to win out of the gate in the first quarter to ensure a playoff berth. Week 1 at the Detroit Lions almost feels like a must-win.
