9. Kenny Chesney – Tennessee Volunteers

When you think of famous Tennessee Volunteers fans, Kenny Chesney is the first name that comes to mind. Arguably one of the best country music stars of all time, Chesney has not only sung about the school, but has actually produced movies about the football program. He is the quintessential Volunteers fan, and has really given back to  the school.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Chesney was always an avid fan of the Volunteers football team. While he never attended the University, you would be hard-pressed to find someone who loves the team more. His song, “The Boys of Fall,” is about the Volunteers, and he also co-directed and produced a film for ESPN with the same title.

In addition to “The Boys of Fall,” Chesney also co-directed and produced “The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story.” The story is about legendary Volunteers quarterback Condredge Holloway, who endured a ton during  his time as the starting QB for the Vols. Chesney also has sung a duet with legendary Volunteers quarterback Peyton Manning, as well as been a fixture at home games.

Chesney has been a fan of the team all of his life, and spent his early years listening to John Ward broadcast the games. When Ward passed away, Chesney wrote “Touchdown Tennessee,” which was a tribute ballad to Ward. The singer also kicked off the Battle of Bristol, which was a matchup at Bristol Motor Speedway between the Volunteers and the University of Virginia.
