8. Adam Duritz – California Golden Bears

Adam Duritz is mostly known as the front-man for the hugely-popular rock band, Counting Crows. However, there is another side of Duritz that most people do not know about. That side is absolutely bonkers for the California Golden Bears, and he crackes our list at No. 8 because of that.

Duritz is not only a huge fan of the Golden Bears, but also a huge fan of college football in general. He actually studies recruits, knows opposing teams, and all the while doing it as one of the more recognizable singers of his era. The singer is absolutely devoted to the California football program, and has delivered pep talks before games in the past.

In addition to being a rock star, Duritz also is a part-time sideline reporter for the Golden Bears. He wears Cal gear during his concerts, and checks Scout.com and Rivals for information about incoming freshman. There are very few celebrities out there that know as much as Duritz does about college football.

The 52-year-old Duritz will be all over college football this season, as the Golden Bears try to be relevant in a very tough Pac-12 Conference. He will be visible at practice, at games, and on the sidelines delivering reports. He is a huge motivator of the program, and is definitely worth of a top-10 ranking on our list.
