27. Larry the Cable Guy – Nebraska Cornhuskers
Larry the Cable Guy has made a name for himself for years as a comedian, and some may even recognize him as the guy from the Prilosec commercials. Whether it is through his act, or his spots in commercials, there is no doubt that he is a very funny man. Aside from being hilarious, Larry is also an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, and there is no limit to how far he will go for his beloved college football team.
Born Daniel Lawrence Whitney, the 54-year-old comedian has always had Nebraska in his roots. He was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska, and even attended the University after high school. Throughout his career, he has performed all over the world, including inside Memorial Stadium. He may be the biggest celebrity Nebraska fan of all time, and he has no problems showing his loyalty to the team.
Playing his role as Larry the Cable Guy, Whitney is usually wearing a camoflauge hat. Written on that hat, is the word Huskers, which is in reference to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also wears a gold N around his neck, keeping his beloved Cornhuskers close to his heart at all times. Currently, Whitney resides in Lincoln, Nebraska, so he is always a quick ride away from seeing Nebraska play.
On Saturdays, Whitney can be found inside a luxury box in Memorial Stadium, where it does tend to get a bit rowdy. On one such occasion, a fan challenged him to an arm wrestling contest, which ended very badly for the competitor. Whitney not only won the contest, but snapped the person’s arm, and did it all while wearing the red of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
