Rumor: Cara Delevingne as the Next Bond Girl
By David Pegram
A new Bond 25 rumor has emerged: this week, The Mirror is pushing a story (according to inside sources) that British model turned actress, Cara Delevingne is in line to be cast in Bond 25. The Daily Mail has added that Delevingne could play a “kick-ass” spy. Only time will tell, but…
Casting Delevingne as a Bond girl would create the largest age gap between Bond and primary

Bond girl during the Craig era. Craig is 25 years Delevingne’s senior, which would be the largest gap since Roger Moore’s 28 years on Tanya Roberts in A View to a Kill. The largest gap ever: 30 years, between Moore (53) and Carole Bouquet (23) in For Your Eyes Only.
In Casino Royale, Craig was 12 years older than co-star Eva Green; he was also 12 years older than Olga Kurylenko in Quantum of Solace. In Skyfall, Craig was 11 years older than Berenice Marlohe. The gap in Spectre was 17 years, between Craig and Lea Seydoux.
However, it must be noted that not all Bond girls serve as romantic interests, as was the case with Kurylenko. In Quantum of Solace, Gemma Arterton (as Fields) was the love interest, if only briefly, and she was 18 years younger than Craig. If Delevingne is cast as an accomplice, in the manner of Kurylenko, the age gap would likely be a non-issue. The same might not be said if Craig and Delevingne were to share an on-screen kiss: it could turn out to be a cringe-worthy moment.
Delevingne currently stars in Valerian. She rose to prominence with roles in Suicide Squad and Paper Towns. If cast as a Bond girl, she would join a long list of former models to appear as a Bond girl, a list that includes the aforementioned Kurylenko.
