Apparently there are a lot of people out there who find Original Red Sauce a bit too mild for their palates.
If you love Tobasco Sauce but wish it was hotter, there’s an alternative out there for you. The problem is finding it.
Money explains that Tobasco Scorpion Sauce is 20 times hotter than the company’s Original Red Sauce, which rates 2,500 to 5,000 units on the Scoville Unit Rating, which is the universally accepted measure of heat for spicy foods. Scorpion Sauce’s rating is unknown, yet it’s clear it’s way more powerful than the regular stuff.
That should scare people off, but it’s having the opposite effect. Tobasco Scorpion Sauce is hard to find right now. Or impossible, according to the company that makes it.

A ton of people responded to that tweet in dismay, hoping that Tobasco would make more or at least provide some guidance on the next time Scorpion Sauce would be available. As of the time if this article, the company account has yet to tweet a follow-up.
Alas, Tobasco Scorpion Sauce was always supposed to be a limited time only deal, just perhaps not quite this limited. Did the company underestimate the number of heat-seekers out there, or was a small run always part of the plan to create a mystique for the sauce?
Popsugar at least got to try it out, reporting that it was as hot as advertised. Remember, normal Tobasco sauce is already no joke. Multiply that by 20 and … well, you better have some milk on hand to cool down those nerves in your mouth.
Here’s hoping another batch of Scorpion Sauce is in the works, because even though we should know better, we’d love to try it too.
