Jordan Spieth continues to amaze at the 2017 British Open in Royal Birkdale. Let’s see what he’s up against heading into Championship Sunday as the leader.

There has been one man atop the leaderboard since the end of Day 1 at the 2017 British Open at Royal Birkdale. That guy would be American Jordan Spieth and he is 18 holes away from capturing his third career major tournament victory.

Spieth was tied with Matt Kuchar and Brooks Koepka at -5 after Round 1 on Thursday. Wind and rain got in the way in Round 2 on Friday, but Spieth would improve to -6 and extend his lead on Kuchar to two strokes.

On Saturday, Spieth got back to business and shot his second 65 (-5) on the tournament. That would extend his lead over Kuchar to three strokes, who shot a 66 (-4) in his excellent tournament so far. They will obviously be the final pairing on Championship Sunday at Royal Birkdale.

After a four bogey day on Friday in the conditions, Spieth’s third round looks eerily similar to what he did on Thursday afternoon. Spieth had five birdies and no bogeys on the day to extend his lead. He birdied holes 3, 7, 8, 15 and 18. His two best holes on the tournament have been No. 8 and 15. He is two under on 8 and an impressive three under on 15 thanks to an eagle on Friday.

Here is what the top of the 2017 Open Championship leaderboard looks like after Round 3.

Spieth is clearly in the driver’s seat to win his first Claret Jug. Kuchar is three strokes back and has been the second best player at The Open Championship this year. Can Spieth keep it up?
