Sterling Shepard has high expectations for the New York Giants offense this upcoming season.

During a recent interview with Sirius XM radio, Sterling Shepard made a bold prediction for the New York Giants receivers this upcoming season. As reported by NFL.com’s Jeremy Bergman, Shepard had quite a bit to say when asked about the Giants receiving corps:

"I’m very excited a part of that good group of guys, especially having Odell and Brandon on the outside now is going to help free up the inside for Evan [Engram] and I. That’s every wide receiver’s dream to have two great guys on the outside that are going to draw a lot of attention. That’s what you’re getting with those two. We should have a feast in the inside if we prepare good enough."

He’s not wrong. The Giants may have the best trio of receivers in the NFL, led by Pro Bowler Odell Beckham. Beckham has over 1,300 yards in his first three years and will look to make it a fourth when the season kicks off in September.

Sterling Shepard impressed in his rookie campaign, posting 65 catches for 683 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. Not a bad resume to take into his sophomore season. He’ll look to build on that as Brandon Marshall joins the team from across town. At 33 years old, Marshall is still an impact player who will no longer need to line up against each team’s top cornerback. That’s likely to create additional opportunities for the veteran.

The wildcard added to the mix is rookie tight end Evan Engram. Engram’s training camp hype reminds me of the praise Shepard was receiving from his teammates and the media before making a name for himself last year.

It goes without saying, receivers can’t catch the ball if the quarterback can’t throw it. All eyes will be on Eli Manning and the shaky offense line as Eli tries to bounce back from a tough 2016.
