Part 10 really highlighted the dark side of the Twin Peaks universe. Let’s see if they continue that trend in Part 11 of The Return.

There are only two months left in Twin Peaks’ return season. If it’s the last we ever see of the show, fans should be satisfied, but only if they end on a high note. At times, it may seem like David Lynch is making it up as he goes with each episode, but it’s apparent that every small moment is building toward something.

The show has made that readily apparent recently by bringing back characters after they had disappeared for weeks. First it was Bill Hastings, who hadn’t been seen since the two-part premiere. Then it was Richard Horne, who proved himself to be the scum of the Earth. And after the Log Lady’s ominous message to Hawk, as well as the hotel scene involving Gordon Cole, this could be the episode where Laura Palmer makes her return.

There may even be some significance in the musical performances each week that we don’t know about yet. If there’s one thing Twin Peaks has succeeded in doing, it’s training the viewer to pay close attention to everything.

Here’s the synopsis for “Part 11,” according to TV Guide:

"There’s fire where you are going."

As far as number of words go, that’s one of the most detailed synopses yet. However, the only possible connection you could draw is “fire walk with me,” a popular phrase in the Twin Peaks universe as well as the title of the prequel film. That could mean this episode will be centered around Bob.

While Twin Peaks fans have been watching this series all year long, there was some revived interest in it after they had their San Diego Comic-Con panel. None of the cast members on hand could answer any story-related questions, but fans were still treated to an off-kilter David Lynch video — he even referenced O.J. Simpson! If people didn’t realize it before, they should know now how influential this show really is.
