AJ Styles throws out first pitch at Phillies game before WWE Battleground (Video)
AJ Styles has a big United States title defense at Battleground on Sunday night, but found some time in the day to throw out the first pitch for the Phillies.
AJ Styles has a lot on his plate for WWE Battleground in Philadelphia, with his first defense of the United States championship against Kevin Owens on Sunday night. However, apparently his pre-match preparations just so happen to include some baseball.
Styles was a guest at the Philadelphia Phillies game on Sunday afternoon against the Milwaukee Brewers, and threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the team before the game started.
Being the United States champion apparently has some serious perks to it, as Styles was decked out in a ton of Phillies gear, including a custom jersey to don for the pitch. The jersey, rather than featuring a number, has “P1” on the back and sleeves, which is definitely some unique memorabilia for “The Phenomenal One”.
The Phillies also posted some pictures before the game of Styles in his new attire and meeting some of the Phillies players. “The Champ that Runs the Camp” even got to show off his bat skills in some pregame batting practice.
The move may not have been smart on Styles’ part, as the Atlanta native may get some negative feedback from a certain other team in the NL East. Styles is a big Atlanta sports fan, and was rooting hard for the Atlanta Falcons this past February on their run to the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. Now, we’ll see if the champ may have angered the city’s baseball team, and the Phillies’ rival, the Atlanta Braves.

Maybe the trip to the ballpark will help clear Styles’ mind before his big title defense in Philly later on Sunday night, and he may have to start throwing out first pitches before every pay-per-view if this works out.
