How can you find the premiere of Insecure season 2 online?
The first season of Insecure, a comedy about two middle-aged black women, premiered in October of 2016 on HBO. The show’s creator Issa Rae, who also stars in it, wants the show to illustrate that women of color can be normal and relatable rather than being relegated to sidekick roles. It goes about this by essentially following these women as they live their daily lives.
Most of the drama featured on Insecure season 1 was in and of itself fairly unremarkable. Issa (played, believe it or not, by Issa Rae) has some communication issues with her long-term boyfriend Lawrence. Most of these differences they were able to talk out, but after Issa slept with someone else, they broke up.
The other protagonist, Molly (played by Yvonne Orji), is successful in her career, less so in her personal life. While Issa had Lawrence as something of a constant in her life, Molly bounced through a few different relationships over the course of the eight-episode first season.
The show’s first season was almost universally lauded by critics, and a second season was ordered in November of last year. It’s first episode, titled “Hella Great” will air on Sunday, July 23. The synopsis released by HBO reads:
"Issa struggles in the aftermath of her breakup with Lawrence, while facing challenges at a new work assignment. Molly questions her worth at work, while Lawrence adjusts to his new living arrangement."

Here’s the info you need to watch the season premiere live:
What: Insecure season 2, episode 1, “Hella Great”
When: Sunday July 23rd 7:30 pm
Where (TV): HBO
Where (streaming): HBO
In the closing scenes of the season 1 finale, Issa was on her way to try and talk to Lawrence about their break up. Whether that ended up going well or poorly, that discussion probably has something to do with Lawrence’s new living arrangements. It could also affect Issa’s level of stress for her work assignment.
Through the first season she had her relationship with Lawrence to fall back on when things got tough at work. Now that she doesn’t, Issa may want more validation on the job.
