British Open 2017, Jordan Spieth wins: Twitter reacts
Jordan Spieth is the youngest American player at age 23 to win The Open and goes from “choking” with a lead to winning with thrill, setting the Twitter world on fire.
For those watching the first 13 holes of The British Open’s final day, we had taken the blue pill from The Matrix, but then we decided to take red pill, with Jordan Spieth showing us the “truth” of his brilliance. He hit a horrible drive at hole 13 and everyone was saying it was all over. His steady lead from the day before was evaporating before our very eyes. But then he bogeyed his way out in amazing fashion.
He stopped playing safe and played to win.
Then hole 15 happened, with a 48-foot putt. Then two birdies and -5 strokes later, he hit the last beautiful stroke for the win. It was a victory for the ages and the Internet went wild.
