SummerSlam is just under a month away, and we got our first promo for The Biggest Party of the Summer at Battleground on Sunday night.

SummerSlam is one of the year’s biggest shows for WWE, and we got our first taste of the show during a free moment at Battleground as we begin the build-up for the The Biggest Party of the Summer.

The event will go live on August 20 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the third straight year, and WWE is building up for a big show to set the tone for the rest of the year. With Brock Lesnar defending the Universal title on the show, John Cena advertised for the show and plenty of interesting match-ups possible on the SmackDown side, it’s gearing up to be a huge one.

At Battleground on Sunday night, we got the first look at some promotional work for the event, as WWE released their first promo for the event.

The promo featured Lesnar, Braun Strowman, SmackDown women’s champion Naomi, Cena and plenty others to hype up the event, and showcased the loaded talent pool that should stack the card for one of WWE’s Big Four events.

Last year’s show featured the first-ever Universal title match between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, and a main event between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton. We had a classic match between Cena and AJ Styles, and plenty of other solid matches throughout the night, so we can surely expect the same for next month.

After Battleground wraps up, we’ll have a better look at the SmackDown side of the card, but it looks like we could end up seeing a massive Universal title match for SummerSlam’s main event.

Lesnar still is without an opponent after Strowman’s interference in Reigns and Samoa Joe’s number one contender’s battle, and we could see a big fatal four way between all of them for the belt to end the show.

The show should be a good one, and we’re officially in that season with the first promo for SummerSlam now out and about.
