NL Wild Card Standings

Colorado Rockies (58-42, .580, +1)

After a rough few weeks, the Colorado Rockies are finally headed in the right direction again. The Rockies took two of three games against the Pirates over the weekend, pushing their total to six wins in seven games. As a result, Colorado overtook the Diamondbacks for the first spot in the NL Wild Card race.

Arizona Diamondbacks (56-42, .576, -GB)

Arizona picked up a series win against the Reds at the beginning of the week, but dropped two of three against the Nationals over the weekend. The Diamondbacks have now lost 11 of their last 15 games. Coupled with the Cubs red hot performance since the All-Star break, the D-Backs once insurmountable lead in the Wild Card standings is down to just 4.5 games.

Chicago Cubs (51-46, .526, 4.5 GB)

Milwaukee Brewers (51-48, .525, 4.5 GB)

Pittsburgh Pirates (44-48, .478, 8 GB)

Atlanta Braves (47-50, .485, 8.5 GB)

St. Louis Cardinals (47-51, .480, 9 GB)

New York Mets (45-51, .469, 10 GB)

Miami Marlins (44-52, .458, 11 GB)

San Diego Padres (43-55, .439, 13 GB)

Cincinnati Reds (41-57, .418, 15 GB)

San Francisco Giants (38-62, .380, 19 GB)

Philadelphia Phillies (34-62, .354, 21 GB)

The Cubs starting rotation, which struggled often during the first half of the season, has been great since the All-Star break. Mike Montgomery, John Lackey, Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester all posted quality starts last week, with Lester winning two after allowing a combined three runs on six hits and one walk, with 16 strikeouts in 15 innings.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee got strong starts from Zach Davies, who allowed one unearned run in seven innings, and Bret Suter, who allowed three runs in 10.2 innings across two starts, but others struggled. Javy Guerra and Jimmy Nelson each posted an ERA over 7.00, while relievers Jacob Barnes, Carlos Torres and Oliver Drake were also hit hard.
