For the past two seasons, the Florida Gators have led the SEC East division. While the Gators fully plan to win the division again in 2017, they are going to have stiff competition from the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are a sexy pick to give the Crimson Tide a run for their money for the SEC title, returning some elite players on offense.

Starting with the quarterback, where Jacob Eason should take another step forward in 2017, the Bulldogs have a bunch of talent on the offensive side of the ball. The running back tandem of Sony Michel and Nick Chubb may be the best in college football, and they should be able to run the ball with ease this season. If Eason can be more consistent in the passing game, this is going to be a tough offense to stop.

While the Bulldogs have arguably the best running backs in the country, they also have some talented players on the defensive side of the ball. The linebacking group is tremendous, and in total, the group returns 11 starters from last season’s team. That is a veteran group, and a team that can play defense, and run the ball, is going to win games at any level.

In order for the Bulldogs to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide, it will have to happen first in the SEC title game. However, if both teams are loaded going into the game, they both could earn bids into the College Football Playoff. Alabama is going to be so hard to beat this season, but the Bulldogs will have the right combination to make it a game if they can get to the SEC title game.
