In a weird string of events, ESPN will be filming an All-SEC battle royal that CWF Mid-Atlantic will be holding on Saturday.

If you like ESPN, the SEC and professional wrestling, you’re in for a real treat on Saturday night down in North Carolina.

CWF Mid-Atlantic, a Carolina-based wrestling promotion, is holding an event on Saturday night entitled “No Excuses”, and is going up against some stiff competition in UFC 214 with some massive fights to compete with. However, it looks like the promotion may have found a unique formula that they are going to try to use to garner some attention.

According to a post from the promotion, CWF Mid-Atlantic will be holding an All-SEC battle royal at the event on Saturday, and even will have ESPN there to film the action.

“ESPN in conjunction with CWF Mid-Atlantic will be holding a special SEC battle royal with every SEC school represented by a different CWF Mid-Atlantic wrestler!” the promotion said.

The promotion announced that the network will be there taping a “special segment”, and it will end up being used for the network’s college football preview coverage in August.

While it’s not the biggest promotion out there, and certainly isn’t the equivalent to WWE or any other huge name out there, it’s still a unique idea and one that will garner a lot of attention on a big television network.

The event will be held down in Gibsonville, North Carolina, and they’re offering tickets for the event at the network’s website if you’re interested in checking out the action.

The production value will likely be pretty low, and you’ll likely see Alabama come out on top with how the college football world usually works out, but it still should be a fun time if you’re looking to combine two of your sports loves into one.
