NFL training camps are opening up all over the country, but Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will have to wait a few weeks before getting out there.
Joe Flacco and his Baltimore Ravens teammates hope to get back to the playoffs during the 2017 NFL season, but his training camp will need to wait a few weeks to get started. Flacco is deal with a back injury, and some believe he may be out as long as 3-6 weeks. The signal-caller is the second Ravens player to go down to injury early in training camp, as running back Kenneth Dixon tore his meniscus earlier in the week.
It did not take long for Cardale Jones to get out of Buffalo, as he was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday. Jones heads to the Bolts for a conditional draft pick, ending a short stint with the Bills. The Chargers were looking for some depth behind Philip Rivers at the position, bringing in Robert Griffin III earlier this week, and the addition of the strong-arm Jones gives them just that.
The Lucky Whitehead-saga continued on Wednesday, but this time, he got some better news. After being released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the week after being wrongly arrested and charged with petty larceny, Whitehead landed with the New York Jets. Whitehead should get a good opportunity to play for the Jets this season, as they are slated to be one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Everson Griffen is one of the better defensive ends in the NFC, and on Wednesday, he was paid like one. Griffen signed a four-year extension with the Minnesota Vikings, a contract that runs through 2022, worth $58 million. Of the $58 million, $34 million is guaranteed if he is injured, and is not yet fully guaranteed. The 29-year old has started all of the Vikings games the last three seasons, serving as an anchor on the defensive line for one of the best defenses in football.

Finally, it appears that Mitchell Trubisky will not be getting first-team reps in his first training camp with the Chicago Bears. Trubisky is actually listed as No. 3 on the quarterback depth chart for the Bears, sitting behind starter Mike Glennon, and backup Mark Sanchez. The former North Carolina Tar Heel was drafted No. 2 overall by the Bears, just weeks after signing Glennon to what appeared to be a long-term deal.
