Colorado Rockies

As a young MLB franchise, the Colorado Rockies don’t have an overly strong Mount Rushmore. But they still have their fair share of significant figures.

Todd Helton is the best player in franchise history, playing his entire baseball career with the Rockies. He holds the franchise mark in almost every major offensive category, including hits, home runs, doubles, RBIs, bWAR and runs scored. Helton has a special place in the heart of every Rockies fan.

Larry Walker might be the closest thing the Rockies have ever had to a Hall of Famer. He generally gets lumped in with the PED crowd, but he spent some very productive seasons in Colorado. Walker is the franchise leader in on base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS. He also ranks second to Helton in a lot of categories.

Troy Tulowitzki served as the face of the franchise from 2007 to 2015. His 39.1 bWAR ranks third among all position players. Tulowitzki owns three of the 10 highest bWAR seasons in franchise history. His 2007 season is one fans will tell their grandkids about. Tulo and the Rockies might have had an awkward end to their relationship, but he’s still a very significant figure in their narrative.

Matt Holiday still owns the last spot. He put up some very impressive numbers in Colorado. While Holiday probably didn’t touch home plate in the 2007 wild card game, he scored the winning run and to this day, that’s probably the most significant moment in franchise history. It defined “Rocktober” of 2007.
